Personal
Story:
I was buying something else from a seller on Ebay and he had this
figure for a really low price. It looked enticing so I had to grab
it before someone else did. :) |

Introduction:
This figure is actually part of Yujin's SR-DX series. Even though
Tomy is featured prominently on the packaging, the figure was actually
made in cooperation with Yujin. This figure is based on the character
Fiona (aka Feene in Japan) in the anime, Zoids: Chaotic Century. It
features Fiona wearing a swimsuit. |

Sculpt:
The first thing you'll notice about this figure is that the
sculptor aimed for a much older and much more voluptuous Fiona.
This ain't the Fiona that we saw in the TV series. Personally, I
have no problems with it but I'm sure fans would've wanted the Fiona
from the show who's much younger and flatter. The sculpt of her
body is much more realistic than many figures of this type. She's
quite curvaceous. If they had given her a more realistic face it
would've pass as a figure based on a real person.
The
retailers selling her describe her wearing a swimsuit but it looks
more like a summer outfit to me. The majority of the swimsuit is
covered up. I guess I'm just being picky. It certainly reminds me
of all those Love Hina figures with summer outfits floating around
which is probably why I find this figure so appealing. Anyway, she
looks great and has a very feminine pose. She looks kind of shy
with her awkward pose which is very cute. The hair, face and eyes
look great and looks very close to her anime counterpart so not
all is lost with her grown-up look. The creases and folds in her
outfit are also very well done.
The
first thing that caught my eye about this figure were the legs.
Great legs! The sculptor put a lot of details into her legs and
feet. You can see the dimples of the knees and her feet actually
have toenails! Even the back of the legs are sculpted well. It really
shows this figure wasn't rushed and her legs look very realistic
as a result. It's definitely my favorite part of the figure. :)
What
I found a little disappointing with the figure was that it wasn't
glued together at all. The pieces are a bit loose. It's not so bad
but it would've made the figure much more solid. There's also ZERO
articulation. You can only twist her waist and maybe widen the position
of her legs slightly. You can't even turn her head which is a bummer.
It's meant to be displayed but they should've allowed the head to
be able to turn. The stand is typical of Yujin's SR-DX series. It
holds the figure up very well and keeps her stable. There's nothing
fancy here. The figure is also nice and large so it's a great display
piece.

Paint:
The paint is very cool. The color scheme is very soft and vibrant.
It has a somewhat pastel look which conforms with its summer theme.
It's all pretty standard but what impressed me was the flesh colors.
Unlike many figures of this type from Yujin, they actually airbrushed
tones on her. It really accentuates her limbs very well. This is
most evident on her legs. Nicely done.

Overall:
B+
This is a very sexy figure of an older looking Fiona that I'm
sure fans will enjoy. I like how she's not wearing her boring uniform
and given a new look. Even if you're not a fan of Zoids, she's a sweet
looking figure to have. Nicely done even with the problems I mentioned.
Good job. |

Where
can I find this?
Very hard. For some reason, I was only able to find this figure
available in some online stores in Asia and Ebay. All the usual
import stores I visited didn't have it at all, which I found very
puzzling. Maybe Tomy did a poor job distributing them. Who knows.
Anyways, good luck finding it.

The figure in its packaging. They made the backdrop look like a
beach but it looks pretty bad.

"This is my good side, hun."

Great details in the legs and feet!

The back. Very uplifting.
