Personal
Story:
My sis bought the Japanese Amelie DVD set and it had a bunch of goodies.
This figure was one of those goodies. |
| |
Introduction:
This is a Kubrick figure based on the character Amelie in the
French movie, Amelie. It depicts Amelie wearing a Zorro outfit (which
was seen in one memorable scene of the movie). The figure was included
as an exclusive in the Japanese Amelie DVD boxed set |

Sculpt:
This is a cool figure. I really like how that sculpted her Zorro
hat/mask and the cape looks pretty cool. The hat and the mask are
actually one piece so you can't take of her hat without taking off
her mask too. The cape is made with a really hard plastic though,
so it's almost impossible to take it off unless you want to risk
cracking it. It also hinders any movement of her arms. She also
has a cloth skirt which is a nice detail. The bad part is that Amelie's
hair isn't included so if you don't own the other Amelie Kubricks,
you won't be able to see her without her hat/mask. She's also missing
her sword which is a bummer.

Paint:
The paint job is okay. They captured her face prefectly and her
outfit on her torso is okay. I like the little question mark near
her navel. Other than that, there's not much there. The "Z"
on the hat is good. |

Overall:
B
This is a great figure for Amelie and Kubrick fans alike. There
isn't a lot you can do with it like other Kubricks though. It's not
very playable. As I've said, she's missing some important accessories
like her hair and sword which drops the score. These are major and
I'm disappointed Medicom didn't include them. |

Where
can I find this?
Ultra-rare. Since this is only available with the Japanese DVD
boxed set, you won't find it anywhere except on an auction site
selling the DVD set. Even then, you'd probably see less than a handful
of them. Last time I checked, only the seller I bought this from
was selling it and it was still pretty expensive. Plus, he only
had ONE left! Impossible to find anywhere else.

The box. The larger artwork gives the illusion that the box is bigger
than the standard Kubrick boxes. Pretty weird effect.

Zorro! Zorro!

Not much to look at in the back.
