Personal
Story:
Well, I already knew the Kill Bill Vol. 2 box set would be coming
out after Vol 1, so as soon as it was announced, I preordered it
from an online Japanese store. I paid less than the retail price
because I preordered it but the shipping was high enough that it
didn't feel much like a bargain. But I paid a lot less than the
Kill Bill Vol. 1 box set on Ebay so I guess I could be happy about
it. I guess...

Introduction:
This is a Be@rbrick figure based on an original design from the
live-action movie, Kill Bill. It depicts the figure with a Kill Bill
tattoo. This was only available with the Kill Bill Volume 2 DVD premium
boxed set in Japan. Limited to 30,000 sets worldwide. |

Sculpt:
Nothing outstanding. It's basically the standard Be@rbrick head
and body. All the details are with the paint job. I do have to mention
that it felt a little lighter than the other Kill Bill be@rbricks
and the head is a lot looser too. It basically turns at a touch
of a feather. I'm not sure if it's just mine or what.
But
it came with a very cool accessory this time. The accessory is based
on the coffin that we saw the Bride get buried alive in. It's well
sculpted with some engravings to simulate wood. They also sculpted
out the metal parts which was a nice detail. It looks great overall
and the lid snaps into place tightly. Very well done.

Paint:
The paint isn't a plain white. It has this weird metallic sheen
similar to glitter or something similar. I can't explain it but
I thought it was good Medicom didn't give us a boring flat white
color. They actually tried to make it look unique.
The
tattoo and the designs on the back is a bright neon pink but it's
not bad looking. The tattoo design itself is very clean and very
intricate. It shows two swords stabbed into a heart with the title
"Kill Bill" on a banner wrapped around it with some other
bits of stuff. I don't remember seeing this in the movie but I remember
seeing it being used in various marketing campaigns for the movie.
I may be wrong but that's the most I remember from it. It's nice
looking so that's all that matters. :) The back shows a giant "2"
with the title below it. It's nothing special. Very cool paint job
overall.

Overall:
B+
It's not as cool as the Kill Bill Vol 1 be@rbrick but it has its
own charm. The design is nice and Kill Bill fans will definitely want
this, but casual collector's might find it boring. The coffin accessory
was a great idea. I wish they had based this be@rbrick on another
character in the film instead. Just an idea. |

Where
can I find this?
Certain online Japanese stores and online import stores have this
in stock so you should be able to find it (as of this review). It
doesn't seem to be as popular as the Kill Bill Volume 1 boxed set
that came out earlier. |

The shrink-wrapped box. Medicom used the coffin as the box which
was cool, but I bet some collectors wished there was a normal box
for them to display...heh. Cool idea though.

|

The
figure in the coffin after you opened it. I don't understand why
they stored it in a sitting position.

|

The
coffin. Nice details.

"I
know some people didn't like Volume 2, but Quentin was going for
this spaghetti-western thing and...oh never mind..."
|
|

The back. Simple yet cool.
