Bleach Real Collection
Review date: 5/28/2005

A bit disappointing. The figures were smaller than I thought and the plastic is very soft. I was particularly disappointed with Ichigo's sword which was badly warped. The sculpt and poses look fine but the relatively small size takes away the potential detail that could've been implemented to these guys. The poses are cool and I like the way they sculpted the attack effects but they're still too small. The BEST figure is Orihime. Not only is she larger than the rest of the figures but the quality of her sculpt and plastic is better. I'm puzzled why the rest of the characters weren't given the same treatment. Weird. I also have to mention that her sculpt is based on one of the manga covers and it looks dead accurate. Orihime redeems the potential disaster of what this set could've been.

Another odd thing is the lack of the character, Chad. They replaced him with Renji instead which is mind-boggling. If they had made Chad then we could've gotten the whole group of friends together. I'm not sure why Renji was included in this particular set. They could've included him in a later set. What a bummer.

The paint job is decent. Orihime is the best while the other characters are average with minor slop. The little attack effects are nicely painted onto the translucent sculpt. Not bad.

Overall: C+
Not the best Bleach gashapons. The only reason to get this set is for the sweet Orihime figure. The rest of the characters were disappointing. The small size and the odd choice to replace Chad with Renji really ruined it for me.
