Cardcaptor Sakura Series 1

Nicely made. The sculpt looks great and is very accurate to the source material. They look better than the CCS trading figures that were made a few years ago. The faces are nice and very detailed. The costumes are also excellent. They ripple and fold with a lot movement. The ribbon over the chocolate heart with Sakura (in the blue outfit) is excellent. Kero is wonderfully made. They managed to sculpt him out REALLY well even though he's so tiny. The paint for all of them is very clean with very little slop. The text for the chocolate heart is very clean and clear. I was actually surprised they wrote their names in English instead of Japanese. Interesting.

But I have a couple of issues with them though. Some of the costumes are redundant. For example, the cat costume has been done before. It's also one of my least favorite costumes from the show. I don't understand why they didn't bother with other costumes from the show which were better. I'm not a fan of the maid costumes either which I don't ever recall them ever wearing on the show. Another problem is the plastic. It's way too soft. As you can see, there's some nasty warping with the wands which is a shame. Also, because of the soft plastic for the legs, the figures tend to fall if they're not supported. They are quite top heavy. My last complaint is the lack of additional characters. Where's Shaoran and Meiling? I think they've been neglected for way too long. Everyone loves Sakura but a little bit more variety with the characters would've be nice.

Overall: B+
These are the best gashapons/trading figures based on the Cardcaptor Sakura show (as of this review). Even with all the problems I listed, they are very well made. Anyone who's a fan of the show should definitely check these out.
